A person who knows u’r real value will never require you to convince them They will see how lucky they are to have u in their life already
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11 NIV)
There is no question that life can be heavy, overwhelming & at times downright terrible. But god never promised you would not struggle, in John 16:33 it says in part In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” if the world & life’s difficulties are weighing you down remember Gods promises for you today.
July 4 2011 its about BBQ, hanging out, fireworks or is it really? Truth, like so many things in life we take for granted we tend to forget it’s true meaning. How many of us take the time to truly understand what brought us to this day? The vision of our founding fathers & the courage they had to pen such an amazing document that was signed & paid for with blood. All to often we allow time to weaken the value of the cost paid. We will loudly say we hate that president or this one, bring home all the troops now or there is never a justification for war. Truth, is we are not a perfect nation. We have, do & will continue to make mistakes. Yet with all our shortcomings it still remains the beacon of freedom & hope. Thanks to visionaries such as George Washington, Martin Luther King Jr., Ronald Reagan, Harry S. Truman or Susan B. Anthony just to name but a few that we all know yet there are so many we do not. Those who paid the ultimate price & others willing to do so. Our freedom was never free nor will it ever be. We will always need those brave souls to stand, fight & even die so that we all may remain in a free America. So as you celebrate BBQ, hanging out with friends & firework remember those who have & are serving you & our nation, those who are & those yet to be part of the protection over us all. Currently there are only less than 1% of Americans who serve in the military. Thank you to the US Army, Air Force, Navy, National Guard, Coast Guard and a special thanks to my son Austin T. Fowler of the US Marine Corps for taking up the mantel & weight of this responsibility and honor. I am humbled & grateful for your service. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America & to the republic for which it stands One Nation under God indivisible with Liberty & Justice for all. May Gods Grace & favor shine on us all forever. May all our sons, daughters, brothers, sisters fathers & mothers return swiftly & safely.
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence.
He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day,
nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday.
A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.
You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked.
If you make the Most High your dwelling—-even the Lord, who is my refuge—-
then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent.
 For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways;
they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
You will tread upon the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent.
“Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.
With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation. “
Our savior will protect us through any situation. I love you Austin. I am proud of you son.
1,346,000+ men and women who’ve given their lives to protect the freedoms and interests of United States of America.Do they take for granted on purpose or do they just not understand? Yesterday I was in a place where there was time set aside to honor our fallen soldiers. At the completion of that time a Man began to play taps in honor of those who died. While this was going on behind me there were two young men talking back and forth and one even going so far as to sing a song under his breath that had nothing to do with that moment of respect. I find myself frustrated as to how people can not understand the gravity of what was going on, that they are so disconnected or that they really just don’t care?! Sure some would say I should have turned around & laid into them but that’s not going to fix the problem at it’s core. I feel the same way when people don’t stand for our national anthem or remove their hats in reverence. Is it that they themselves or someone in their family tree has not paid the price for this gift of freedom? How is it that that someone can take shelter under the covering of freedom that’s been bought with such sacrifice & yet not show in practice the honor & respect it’s due. In truth I don’t have an real answer as to how to fix this problem & I believe, that is really what it is. If you were born here, if you were brought here, if your family has ever crossed the sea or border to plant roots & drink from the well of freedom flowing from the greatest country in the world. Please, take time today to understand Memorial Day is not about BBQ, days off from work, discounts from products or time to get hammered. It’s about the Hero’s among & before us. Those of generations gone by & those yet to be. Those who have died & others still living who no less have paid with their youth, the futures that may never came true, those living with the agony that the sacrifice only war can bring & the families who endure the loss of a selfless individual. Let us all stand in reverence today & everyday. May we never know loss as they have. May we forever be granted favor as a nation. May our sons and daughters all come home. May we all be American, One nation, under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all
It’s a Slow Fade. The erosion of my character.
I want to remember this every day.
